Ownership

If you cannot pick it up, you do not own it

Cheap Fast Websites · updated August 25, 2026

If you cannot pick the site up and take it to another host, you do not own it. You have a login. Logins feel like ownership until the freelancer disappears, the builder raises the rent, or the nephew who “ran the site” moves. Then you discover the product was a rental with your photos inside. Ownership is boring: the domain in an account you control, the files on a host you control, DNS you can point, a copy of the files you can download. Anything short of that is a mall kiosk with your sign on it.

Cheap Fast Websites sells a standard marketing site for $1,000, or $500* if you pay in full by September 30, 2026. The job includes files and hosting you control, and help pointing the domain. We do not keep the site hostage in an editor you cannot leave. You still buy the name. You still click at the registrar. Most standard jobs finish in under 72 hours when the brief is clear.

Four keys, not one password

The domain. The name should sit in a registrar account whose email you can open. If the freelancer bought it on their card, you are renting your own name. Transfer it, or at least get the login. Renewal is yearly. A dead card is how a business wakes up to a parked page.

DNS. Nameservers are the arrows. If only one person knows where they point, that person owns your Monday morning. Write down the registrar and the target. Changing hosts is a DNS change plus files. It is not a spiritual event.

Hosting. An account you can log into. Bluehost is what this shop already uses. You can use a host you already pay for. The $27 pack can live on our server for +$27 lifetime. Lifetime hosting on our server is still a product you paid for, not a mystery. Ask where the files live. Ask how you get a copy.

The files. HTML, images, the things that make the page. A WordPress install can be files plus a database. A builder export is often not a full site. Squarespace, Wix, GoDaddy Website Builder: leaving is a rebuild. Price that on day one. A done-for-you site here is files you can move. That is the point of not living in their editor.

Questions to ask before you pay anyone

If the answers are vague, you are buying a relationship, not a site. Sometimes a relationship is what you want. Pay for it on purpose. Do not call it ownership. We will not ask you to email a registrar password in a form. Phone 813-451-2204 if you want a human on the click. Forms notify tampasbestdj@gmail.com. We do not steal the name.

What you get here, in writing on the page

A standard marketing site: layout, your photos, contact path, basic SEO (title, meta, Open Graph), hosting setup, help pointing the domain, one round of changes. Files on a host you control. Not a cart, app, or members area at this price. $100 down starts the $1,000 job. That is not the sale. $500 is pay-in-full by September 30, 2026 only. The pack is $27 for the page, +$27 if you want it on our server for life. You still own the domain you pointed.

If you already have a site and you cannot log in, that is the rebuild case. The old vendor may still “own” a builder rental even if you paid. Run a check on the public URL anyway. The public page is what customers see. The keys are what you need to change it. If you have the keys and the bones work, stay and patch. If you do not have the keys, stop paying for a coat of paint. Worldwide, 24/7. Look at live work — this shop’s own sites, files we can actually move.
