Setup
After you buy a domain, you still need a site
You bought yourname.com. Congratulations. You still do not have a website. You have a lease on a name. The registrar took a yearly fee and showed you a parking page, a “build with our builder” upsell, and an email offer. None of that is a site a customer can use. A website is files on a host, DNS pointing at that host, and a page that loads with a lock icon, a phone, and something true about the work. The domain is only the address on the mailbox.
Cheap Fast Websites sells a standard marketing site for $1,000, or $500* if you pay in full by September 30, 2026. Hosting setup and help pointing the domain are in the job. You still click at the registrar. That part is a human step. We will not ask you to email the password in a form and “handle everything.” Most standard jobs finish in under 72 hours when the brief is clear. DNS can still take a chunk of a day after we are done.
The four pieces, in order
The domain. Already bought, if you are reading this. Keep the email on the account. If you lose that inbox, you lose the name at renewal. Do not let it auto-renew onto a dead card. Do not buy twelve misspellings unless you have a reason. One name is enough. Point every social bio at that one name when it actually loads.
DNS. Nameservers and records. They tell the world which machine answers for yourname.com. If you leave the registrar’s default parking, the world sees parking. If you turn on their website builder, the world sees the builder. If you want files on Bluehost or on our server, you change nameservers or A records to that target. Wrong arrows are why “I bought it yesterday and nothing happens” is usually not a broken internet.
Hosting. The machine with the files. Bluehost is what this shop already uses. You can use a host you already pay for. The $27 pack can live on our server for +$27 lifetime ($54 total). Hosting without files is an empty apartment. Files without DNS is a house with no address.
The files. That is the site. We build those. A standard marketing site is a layout, your photos, a contact path, basic SEO (title, meta, Open Graph), one round of changes. Not a cart, not an app, not a members area at this price.
| You have | You still need | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| A domain at GoDaddy / Namecheap / etc. | Files, host, DNS pointed | Build the files, tell you what to click |
| A domain plus their builder | A decision: stay or rebuild | Rebuild if the builder is the problem |
| A domain plus email only | A page at the root | $500* site or the $27 pack |
| Nothing but an idea | The name first, then everything else | We walk you through the name. You still buy it |
What to click this week
Do not buy the builder just because it is next to the checkout. A domain does not require their editor. You can keep the name at GoDaddy and host the site somewhere you control. That is normal. It is also how you avoid a two-year rebuild when you are tired of the editor. If you already clicked the builder, you can still leave. Leaving is a rebuild. Price that honestly. Read leaving a builder if that is the mess you are in. Same idea at GoDaddy, Wix, or anywhere the site is a login instead of files.
Get a host, or say yes that we should help. Send the business name, one sentence about the work, photos from your phone, and the domain. Pay. That starts the clock. $100 down starts the $1,000 job. That is not the sale. $500 is pay-in-full by September 30, 2026 only. If you only need a page by Monday — hours, phone, three pictures — use the $27 pack. Attach the domain when the page exists. Do not point nameservers at an empty host “to get it over with.” You will spend a day looking at an error and think the name is broken.
What still has to be a human
Registrar logins are yours. Approving nameservers is yours. Attaching the domain to a host account is yours. SSL is usually a click or an auto-issue once DNS is right. We sit on the phone for that if you want. 813-451-2204. Forms notify tampasbestdj@gmail.com. We do not steal the name. We do not move the domain to an account you cannot see. Ownership of the name is the whole point of buying it.
Email on the domain is a separate product. If you already have Gmail, you can keep Gmail and still use the domain for the website. If you want you@yourname.com, that is DNS records plus a mail host. We can tell you which records. We are not your IT department on a monthly plan. A brochure site does not require a mail migration to launch. Launch the page. Fix mail next if you need it.
Basic SEO is tags on the page, not a prize. A brand-new domain with no page history will not “show up everywhere” on day one. We will not say it will. Worldwide, 24/7. Look at live work if you want to see names that actually load. Then buy the missing piece — the files — instead of another year of a parked domain you mention on business cards.
Free next step: paste the domain you already own. If it parks, 404s, or opens a builder, that is the work. Then pay $500* and we will tell you exactly what to click.
