A mobile website is just a website that works on a thumb

Cheap Fast Websites · updated August 25, 2026

A mobile website is not a second website. It is the same site, on a thumb, in a parking lot, on cellular, with the sun on the screen. If that fails, you do not have a desktop masterpiece and a “mobile version” to add later. You have a poster that only works in an office. Most of the people who will hire you are not in an office. They are on a phone. Build for that or admit you built for yourself.

People still ask for a “mobile site” the way they asked for a Flash site in 2008: as a separate object. Separate objects go stale. One URL, one layout that shrinks, a phone number that is a real link, type you can read without pinching. That is the job. We do not ship a desktop page and a m.yourname.com museum. Cheap Fast Websites sells a standard marketing site for $1,000, or $500* if you pay in full by September 30, 2026.

The parked-car test

Open your current URL on the phone you actually carry. Turn wifi off. Start a timer. Ten seconds. Can you see the name. Can you see what they do. Can you tap the phone and hear a dialer. Can you submit the form with a dummy message. Is there a lock icon, not a “Not secure” interstitial. Do the photos look like the business, or a stock skyline. If four answers are no, stop shopping for a new font.

That test is the whole product. A marketing site here is phone-ready because the customer is. First screen: name, one sentence, tap-to-call, a next step. Hours if they matter. Photos of the real work. Footer can hold the rest. A hamburger full of seven pages the owner never updates is how a small shop pretends to be a university.

A desktop video autoplaySilence, a still, a phone that does not overheat

What “phone-ready” means on a job here

Custom layout, your photos, contact path, basic SEO (title, meta, Open Graph), hosting setup, help pointing the domain, one round of changes. Most standard jobs finish in under 72 hours when the brief is clear. Phone-ready is in that sentence. It is not a $400 add-on. It is not a second invoice labeled “mobile responsive.” If a quote charges you extra to make the site work on the device everyone uses, the quote is the problem.

It is still not a cart, a member portal, or an app. Those get a separate quote. It is not a ranking prize. We do not promise #1 on Google because the page shrinks. Google cares whether the page is usable. So do customers. Usable is the bar. Rankings are a different conversation we are not selling.

If all you need is hours, phone, and three pictures that work on a thumb this weekend, use the $27 one-page pack. You host it. +$27 lifetime hosting on our server ($54). The standard marketing site is $500*. $100 down starts the $1,000 job ($900 due before launch). That is not the sale. The $500 price is pay-in-full by September 30, 2026 only.

Rebuild vs pinch-and-hope

Stay and patch if the site already passes the parked-car test and you just hate the color. Rebuild if the number is an image, the form dies on iOS, the builder template pinches, or you cannot log in to fix it. Leaving Wix, Canva, or a 2014 theme because it fails on a phone is a rebuild, not a “make it mobile” plugin. See why sites fail on boring things if you want the longer list: lock icon, form, phone, stock photos.

Look at live work on a phone. Dodo, Tampa’s Best DJ, LazerMerch — this shop’s own sites, not fake client revenue. Labeled SAMPLE pages for trades are on /examples/. Open those on cellular too. If you cannot call from the first screen, we failed, and you should tell us. Worldwide, 24/7. Bill is in Tampa. The work is not limited to Tampa.

Run the free check before you pay anyone, including us. A check on a desktop-only antique will say so in the basics a customer notices. Then pick a lane: pack page, full site, or stay. Do not buy a second URL named mobile-yourname.com. That fashion died. One name. One page that works in a parking lot.
